Distopik EQP-1A

The Pultec EQP-1A was introduced in 1956 as a flagship product of Pulse Techniques (Pultec). At the time, Pultec was still a garage operation between two electrical engineers, who weren’t yet aware of the legacy they would leave behind. Audio engineer’s who haven’t heard of the name ‘Pultec’ simply do not exist.

Distopik FC670

The Fairchild 670 stereo compressors/limiters originate in the 1950s. One of the key recording objectives of the time was to capture the audio without distortions, as clean as possible. Rein Narma and Sherman Fairchild sought to overcome some of the technical limitations of recording to vinyl and with the creation of the Fairchild 670, made a huge step forward.

Distopik Precision Series Brickwall Limiter

The Distopik Precision Series Brickwall Limiter is one of the fastest analog limiters in the world. Inspired by one of the Tony Maserati’s favourite limiters, it retains dynamic information at the tops of the peaks, uses no time-delay or phase-shift-delay tricks and keeps the distortion for all levels below the limiting threshold as low as possible.

Distopik Precision Series Mastering EQ

Distopik Precision Series Mastering EQ is the first EQ designed and built by Distopik in 2017. It’s a high quality, surgically accurate, GML/Sontec inspired dual-mono 5-band equalizer, designed for mastering applications.

Distopik Precision Series VCA Compressor

The Distopik Precision Series VCA compressor is the well-known british console bus compressor design revamped and pimped up until we ran out of ideas. At it’s default settings, it will sound familiar to anyone used to the ubiquitous unit and exceptionally transparent to those used to plugin emulations. The latter might discover that the hardware unit starts to show it’s true beauty when pushed hard, holding its own and not “falling apart” even at 10dB+ gain reduction(!) - there’s a good reason why engineers love the original “Gold can” DBX 202 discrete VCA units so much.

Rack1 Mastering

A high-voltage combination of venerable classics: a 20-tube powered Fairchild 670 clone (PCB by Drip, original tubes, original tube power supply) compressor/limiter, Distopik EQP-1A program equalizer and a GML/Sontec inspired, surgically accurate Distopik Precision Series Mastering EQ. This bundle is guaranteed to infuse your mixes with both mojo and definition to make them perform their best on all reproduction systems.
